Senior Pastor Douglas Ferrett
Hi! My name is Pastor Douglas Ferrett and I am the pastor of Independent Baptist Church here in Big Lake, Alaska. Along with my wife, Linda, we have ministered here since 1991, when we came up the Alaskan highway from Michigan with a motorhome and 27 foot trailer and three sons. Our sons are now adults with families of their own, serving in their local churches.
We were missionaries under Baptist Mid-Missions, out of Cleveland, OH until this church went self-supporting in 2019.
Big Lake is a growing town with lots of people in need of the Gospel. We consider our church to be a “House of Prayer”, having two prayer meetings on Wednesday, and having a dedicated congregation who take this time seriously. We take Discipleship seriously also, teaching it during the Sunday School hour.
Our Sunday services are for the edification of the saints and preaching to the lost. If you fit in either of these two categories, I invite you to come to these services.
